MEET THE DOCTORS OF FPA
Harold "Hal" Snyder, D.D.S., M.S., purchased Frederick Periodontal Associates on May 23, 2007. Dr. Snyder is a Board Certified Periodontist who graduated with distinction from the Virginia Military Institute, the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, and he completed his periodontal residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He received his Master’s Degree at the Medical College of Georgia. His distinguished 23-year military dental career provided him extensive clinical experience in all aspects of dentistry and periodontics.
He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology and has been an Associate Clinical Instructor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He has received numerous academic and professional awards and has lectured internationally. Colonel Snyder is a decorated veteran with the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit medals. He is involved in the local community with Mission of Mercy, the Frederick County Dental Society and the Francis Scott Key Dental Study Club.

Deborah Jones, D.D.S., holds a B.S. Degree in Biology with a minor in Community Health, from Tufts University in Medford, MA. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992 from the University of Maryland Dental School. In 1994, she completed her specialty training in Periodontics at the University of Maryland. She earned her Board Certification in Periodontics in May, 2000.
Dr. Jones is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Assn., Maryland State Dental Assn., and has held many offices in the Frederick County Dental Society, including becoming the first female President. She currently serves as the Secretary/ Treasurer for the Francis Scott Key Dental Study Club.
Dr. Jones lives in Frederick with her husband and their two young children. She enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, volunteering for the Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program, and playing soccer and piano when she can find the time!
Keyla Torres, D.M.D., MS., is a Board Certified Periodontist with advanced training in Periodontics, Implants and Prosthodontics. Her passion for dental surgery has led her to limit her practice to Periodontics and Implant Surgery. She is committed to excellence in Comprehensive Periodontal Therapy, Implant Dentistry and Cosmetic Periodontal Surgery through ongoing continuing education.
She has experience in the placement and restoration of dental implants, including full mouth reconstruction. She also has extensive surgical training in numerous soft and hard tissue grafting techniques: guided bone regeneration, sinus augmentation, block graftsridge splitting, soft tissue grafts, esthetic crown lengthening and ridge preservation.
Dr. Torres is highly committed to education as evidenced by her position on the Dean's Faculty and as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Maryland, Graduate Periodontics Department, where she actively trains residents in Periodontics and Implants. The kind consideration she has always shown her patients is reflected in her desire to help less fortunate patients through several voluntary missions in Puerto Rico and the United States. When she is not practicing periodontics, Dr. Torres enjoys spending time with her husband and family.
